I know a lot of my blogger friends like to show off a Frock on Friday. Well if I had a model I may too, but nothing I find in the vintage line ever fits me.
Last week I lucked upon a lovely group of 1970s dresses, all a bit grubby from hanging in a robe for a long time, so I washed and ironed them all this weekend and here they are.
First is this short dress, sleeveless but with a chiffon overlay, and a diamante brooch sewn on (I unpicked it..washed dress and sewed it back!..but it's missing 2 stones).
Next one is by HABE GARMENTS of Sydney, with the largest Butterfly Wing sleeves I've ever seen, fully lined, and a little bow under the bustline.
this one is home made, lovely floral chiffon, and definitely my favourite, unfortunately torn at the back on the hemline. :( very pretty floral.
a Lounge Culotte .. concealed zipper front, tie at waist, by Leyren of Melbourne. A huge amount of fabric in the legs means it looks like a long dress when worn.
So there you have it, a treasure trove of Frocks from my Opping this week. Now all clean and nice and ready to go to Nth Melbourne Market in a few weeks time.
Oh how awesome was that haul That green floral and pant suit are very nice.
ReplyDeleteYour frocks rock Lyndel (couldn't help myself and if I didn't say it someone else would!)
ReplyDeleteI love the blue chiffon and the fabric of the Habe dress is very pretty too (and good for hiding tuckshop arms!)
Great colours in those dresses!

they're all nice but I esp. love the pantsuit, I've always wanted to wear one but no such luck!
ReplyDeleteThey're beautiful, I really love the green floral one, I would absolutely wear that.
ReplyDeleteHow scary that you are showing vintage clothes and I recognised some as the same as I wore when I was young..o'h no!!! I am a vintage variety lol wonderful to see them not thrown out or cut up..thanks for showing these and bringing memories back.
ReplyDeleteOh, they're all beauties!!! I love the floaty chiffon...Sorry I haven't been around lately, my internet has been playing up and I'm too scared to bother the landlords every time it happens, haha! Xoxoxox
ReplyDeleteOh how I love a vintage dress! I think number two is my favourite.
ReplyDeleteHeck these are amazing and I think I need the green pantsuit in my life!! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteFab frocks. Oh so glamorous darlink.
ReplyDeleteHey Lyndel....!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're having a FABULOUS week Lovey....!!

LOVIN' your vintage dresses....ESPECIALLY the culottes in your last pic....!!
Cheers for now,

I also love all those clothes - the colours are just what I wear most of the time! I went into Doncaster Westfield last week and the dress shops were full of browns and blacks - drab, drab, erk!
ReplyDeleteI just adore the culottes - they are so comfortable.
