more and more Flea Market Finds . .

wow what a week... OK I did do a lot of Op Shopping, because hubby had a few appointment he needed driving to, and I never just go to the doctors... always have to have Op Shop Therapy too.
Linen, linen and more linen seemed to jump out at me this week. Above is a huge circular pot holder, backed in plain green cotton with what feels like sacking lining. It is indeed an oldie, but never been used. Check out the cute fabrics !
Then there was a nice  Hexagon pot/plate stand, much more modern than the potholder, but cute.
found that together with some lovely crochet doilies, and a few embroidered 'guest towels'
and of course I found some more floral pillowcases, a floral 1/2-apron,  and a small stash of Tea Towels

Finally, the sweetest Lingere draw string bag. Bright green fine cotton, lovingly embroidered with the lingere on the washing line. Cute or what?
But that was not all.. oh no.. I also found a wonderful hardback book  The Australian Women's COMPLETE HOUSEHOLD GUIDE, illustrated. Not dated, but I'd guess 1950s, in feet and inches, pounds and ounces and Pounds/Shillings / & Pence. I'll have to make a blog just about this book next week, the colour illustrations are fantastic.

    I love them all! I love the old craft/household books too. I always seem to find them in groups. Makes me so happy!

    Those fabrics on the pot holders makes my heart go pitter pat. Geez I love vintage fabric.

    at first glance I thought the top pot holder was a giant pouffe and I was about to cry with jealousy! Less of the green-eyed monster knowing that it's a pot holder, but it's (all) still lovely...I love that marching band fabric Lyndel.

    the household guide holds me enthralled... yes, please do a little post on some of the insides, i am cuuuuuurious.... ;)))

    Noice things there Lyndel.I have an old 50s womans own book (opshop find) I posted about months ago.Has some great pics and silly sexist things in it ,great for a laugh tho.

    Lovely stash of fabric gorgeousness there - that green lingerie bag is very cute indeed. And you know how I love my old books - definitely post on the 50s one, can't wait.

    Hi again I just used a glue stick lots and lots am doing the other drawers now and am thinking that I may have to reglue if it doesnt stick long will let you know.I shall check out that other stuff to do the staining thanks.

    You are the Opshop Queen now Lyndel! Fabulous finds there. I'm going to have to get to one of your markets one day...are they always on the other side of town (from us!) or do you ever have a stall at markets in the eastern suburbs?
